SUMMARY:

Develops solutions for refrigeration or mechanical utility applications and processes.
Works closely with customers, business developers, and design project managers to ensure projects are competitively bid and meet the needs of the client.
Provides support to APM's, Field Engineers, and Superintendents throughout the installation and commissioning phases of the project as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Proposal Development:
Assists Project Developer in the creation of competitive and negotiated bids; interfaces with in-house and external resources including Engineering, Finance, and Legal; communicates with Client as required.

Budget Control:
Reviews proposals, executes change orders, and processes other documentation in line with company policy; Analyzes costs on routine basis, and develops monthly cost projections based on current information; Invoices client on timely basis.

Client Interface:
Maintains close client contact; Responds to requests in a timely manner; Maintains and distributes monthly progress reports; Maintains thorough knowledge of company contracts with the client and each subcontractor/supplier.

Project Administration:
Utilizes company software to ensure all necessary documents are in place and processed; Develops and implements project schedules; Assures all materials and project items are on site as required by schedule; Secures all necessary permits; Schedules meetings as necessary with subcontractors, owners, design teams, and permitting agencies; Supervises close out of project.

Subcontractor Relationships:
Plans work, reviews submittals, manages pay applications and lien releases; Maintains thorough knowledge of company contracts with each subcontractor and supplier; Verifies proper insurance coverage.

Travel:
Frequent travel (up to 50%) to customer and worksite locations.


Other:
Provides support to APM's, Field Engineers and Superintendents as necessary; miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Title: MAINTENANCE MECHANIC - 3rd Shift

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing all phases of plant maintenance. Performs all assigned tasks to maintain plant equipment and facility in reliable condition. Troubleshoots and corrects production line breakdowns quickly, efficiently and safely. Completes projects to improve plant productivity and efficiency.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs electrical repairs and installation of electrical equipment.
• Understands refrigeration or possesses the ability to learn operation of plant refrigeration equipment.
• Performs mechanical repairs to correct production line breakdowns.
• Performs repairs to facilities and preventative maintenance.
• Completes required tasks on repair, PM and OH work orders.
• Performs welding, grinding, and metal cutting tasks as assigned.
• Operates forklifts and other mobile equipment; possesses ability to obtain operator certification.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Position requires a minimum of 5 years plant maintenance, at a journeyman level, in a food processing environment to include facilities maintenance.
• Position requires hands-on skills in PLC, electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Must be certifiable to operate a forklift.
• Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices in a food processing environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate or equivalent.
A minimum of five (5) years maintenance experience within Food, and/or Beverage industry.
Able to pass WorkKeys assessment on Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information. Able to pass Ramsay assessment at level A.
Effective troubleshooting skills; must be able to systematically diagnose electrical and/or mechanical problems.
Working knowledge preferred in the areas of boilers, refrigeration, PLCs, electrical, VFD drives, cooling towers, ammonia compressors, process instrumentation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and packaging equipment.
Have basic computer skills in order to perform maintenance and repair on computer-controlled machinery.

The Maintenance Technician would perform routine maintenance and inspection of the production process equipment, the utility support systems and the production rooms.
