ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Our well established Food Processing client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced Accounting Manager for this IMMEDIATE DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY, who will manage the accounting department.   Requires experience directing the budget/cost controls, analyzing finance data and the ability to improve accounting systems and processes. 

Responsibilities:
·         Oversee daily operations of the Accounting department.
·         Monthly and annual financial close processes ensuring accurate and timely results.
·         Prepare account reconciliations and review reconciliations prepared by others on a monthly basis.
·         Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and research variances and provide explanations.
·         Analyze variances to budget to develop corrective action.
·         Analysis of financial data, statements, and audits, as well as other financial metrics based on past, present and expected operations.
·         Assist with HR/Payroll processes and reporting.
·         Workers Comp & other employee benefit reporting
·         Coordinate annual audit and external audits.
·         Direct internal financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
·         Prepare annual budget, proposals and documentation.
·         Establish relations with banks and other financial institutions.

Qualifications:
·         A minimum of 5+ years working as an Accounting Manager or equivalent - Food Manufacturing environment   a plus
·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred (MAY consider equivalent experience)
·         Strong financial statement knowledge, including cash flows, as well as technical knowledge of GAAP.
·         Must be able to lead and supervise the accounting department
·         Analytical ability to research, identify and resolve issues
·         Proficient with Accounting Softwares as well as Microsoft Excel and Word skills a must.

JOB SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Direct of Operations, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for providing financial and administrative reporting as well as reviewing current procedures and ensuring their effectiveness and efficiencies.

COST ACCOUNTING IS A MUST!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees the operations, policy and procedures of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Recommend new policies and procedures
  • Reconcile General Ledger and perform month-end / year-end closing entries
  • Review trial balance for errors and reclassifications
  • Ensure proper G/L coding of A/R and A/P transactions
  • Weekly review of aging reports to monitor accounts and ensure A/P and A/R payments are up to date.
  • Review and further develop existing cost accounting procedures
  • Establish and review standards and cost pools on a regular basis.
  • Reconcile WIP value on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare quarterly sales & use tax fillings.
  • Prepare Monthly Financial Reports for management review.


QUALIFICATIONS
1. 5+ years of experience in A/R, A/P, G/L, and Cost Accounting is a MUST!
2. Education: Bachelor of Science / Art in Accounting preferred
3. Analytical skills with attention to detail
4. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
5. Proficient in using MS Office (Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills)
6. Able to create ad hoc reports in Excel
7. Preferred experience in SAGE 100 accounting software (Crystal Reports experience, a plus)

JOB SUMMARY
Under direction of the Finance Director and/or Chief Financial Officer, the Accountant is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to prepare and analyze accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. The Accountant is responsible for preparing, computing, managing, researching and analyzing all accounting data, in order to provide quantitative information on performance, financial position, solvency, liquidity and cash flows.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, general ledger entries and all monthly close procedures.
  • Execution and oversight of accounts payable function.
  • Support annual budgeting process and maintenance.
  • Conduct internal audits to improve existing systems and processes.
  • Electronically organize documentation so that it is readily accessible for audit and other purposes and support annual external audits.
  • Use of general ledger systems including report writing and system integration interfaces. (Sage 50 or higher experience a plus.)
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite of products with special emphasis on Excel.
  • Strong writing skills to create a desk procedures manual of existing processes and interfaces.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with Accounting emphasis is preferred.

SKILLS/DUTIES/EXPERIENCE:

  • MUST have experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper through Financial Statements.
  • Will handle client Bookkeeping to include preparation of Financial Statements, Payroll as well as AR, AP if necessary.
  • Also, MUST have experience with all or some of the following: Quarterly Payroll/Sales/Mill Tax.

This position will perform front desk operations as well as provide backup to the accounting department on a daily basis. Must have excellent communication and phone skills, be a team player and work with all departments in order to keep a positive flow of goods and excellent customer service. Will be responsible for communication and contact with customers, sales personnel and visitors as the front desk receptionist.

Major Duties include but are not limited to;

  • Answer multi-line phones, greet customers and walk-in visitors as well as creating orders and taking payments
  • Process daily invoices for mail and filing
  • Maintain and coordinate ordering and storage of office supplies
  • Typing correspondence for management
  • Assist all aspects of accounting departments daily with overflow work and monthly statement processing
  • Be able to backup the AR department to cover staff during absences and vacations
