Our growing Food Processing client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search on an experienced "Hands On" Controller for this IMMEDIATE DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY! This hands-on plant controller position functions as a business partner with Management to effectively lead the accounting operations of the company, including general accounting, payables, order entry, billing, cost accounting, bill of materials, business analysis, financial reporting and sales management.

COST ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE IS A MUST!

Essential Functions:
1. Prepare and review monthly rolling forecasts, cost/profit analysis, annual operating plan, and strategic planning.
2. Responsible for internal controls for operations, sales and finance.
3. Analyze and accurately report current month’s financial results.
4. Submit all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting on a timely and accurate basis.
5. Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Perform audits of bills of materials to ensure product costs are accurate and accounted for properly.
6. Ensure timely and accurate input of bill of material and price code changes.
7. Ensure bill of material and costing accurately reflect production operations.
8. Maintain a perpetual inventory for finished goods and reconcile this perpetual to production, shipping, and returns on a daily basis.
9. Ensure record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
10. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
11. Prepare weekly/monthly Borrowing Base Reports.
12. Attend daily plant production meetings.
13. Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels.
14. Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
15. Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and results are accurately reported.
16. Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies.
17. Assist in the completion of special projects.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
B.S. in accounting or business administration preferred OR may consider equivalent experience.
5-10 years as plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment, managing a staff, with an emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.
High level of proficiency in PC spreadsheets and Canopy.
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel).

JOB SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Direct of Operations, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for providing financial and administrative reporting as well as reviewing current procedures and ensuring their effectiveness and efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
¨ Oversees the operations, policy and procedures of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
¨ Recommend new policies and procedures
¨ Reconcile General Ledger and perform month-end / year-end closing entries
¨ Review trial balance for errors and reclassifications
¨ Ensure proper G/L coding of A/R and A/P transactions
¨ Weekly review of aging reports to monitor accounts and ensure A/P and A/R payments are up to date.
¨ Review and further develop existing cost accounting procedures
¨ Establish and review standards and cost pools on a regular basis.
¨ Reconcile WIP value on a monthly basis.
¨ Prepare quarterly sales & use tax fillings.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. 5+ years of experience in A/R, A/P, G/L, and Cost Accounting
2. Education: Bachelor of Science / Art in Accounting preferred

4. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
5. Proficient in using MS Office (Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills)
6. Able to create ad hoc reports in Excel
7. Preferred experience in SAGE 100 accounting software (Crystal Reports experience, a plus)

• Keep up to date on industry developments
• Generate and distribute monthly status reports, and assist with monthly closing.
